Gay Travel Information – 10 Prime Steak & Sushi – Providence, RI

10 Prime Steak & Sushi / 55 Pine Street / Providence, RI 02903 / 401-453-2333

Stepping into 10 Prime Steak & Sushi is like stepping into a trendy, sexy, Miami bistro. Everything about the decor and ambiance is funky, chic and downright beautiful.

From the zebra striped door to the cobalt blue backdrop and naked mannequins hanging on the wall, 10 Prime Steak & Sushi screams originality and FUN!
There was Latin music pulsating when my partner Jennifer and I arrived for dinner on a balmy summer evening. The bar was teaming with the after work crowd and smiles covered the faces of the restaurants diners.

The biggest and best smile of all was from our amazing waiter, Johnny!
Both Jen and I fell in love with Johnny. We wanted to kidnap him and bring him home with us. What a pleasant gentleman! Johnny was so informative and took great care of us without being overbearing. As if the food and decor wasn’t reason enough to return….there is Johnny too! 😉
Everything about 10 Prime Steak & Sushi is over-the-top fantastic. Would you expect anything less from the Chow Fun Food Group

Chef, David Jackson should be commended for his fine craftsmanship of delicious cuisine.
General manager Jenn Jill and Executive Chef David Jackson
10 Prime Steak & Sushi has the reputation of serving the highest quality meats and having the best sushi in Rhode Island including nigiri, sashimi, 15 designer rolls which include the Roll 10 made with Maine Lobster, smoked salmon, asparagus, avocado and caviar and let’s not forget their high quality of prime including wyagu and kobe steaks.
For an appetizer Jen and I chose the Party of Many Skewers served with teriyaki beef, coconut shrimp and chicken satay served with a sweet and spicy dipping sauce.
It was absolutely delectable and the presentation was fantastic with a mini Sterno to keep meats warm!

Before we ordered our main entrees Jen enjoyed the Pink Cadillac Martini (made with Absolut Apeach, cranberry, triple sec and citrus squeeze).
10 Prime Steak and Sushi has an impressive drink menu which can be found HERE.

For our main entrees Jen ordered the Prime New York Sirloin (14 oz) served “surf” with a Grilled Maine Lobster Tail. Her two sides consisted of grilled zucchini and chive & cheddar tator tots.
I wanted to try something different from either steak or sushi so I ordered the Prime Meatloaf (bacon wrapped, served with garlic smashed potatoes, onion strings and a mushroom red wine sauce).
I also ordered a side of their famous Bacon Mac & Cheese (oh my).
Really where do I begin? Jen and I have been to numerous steak houses including places like Palm Restaurant, Ruth Chris Steakhouse, Flemming’s Steakhouse and The Capital Grille.

10 Prime Steak & Sushi wins – hands down. The steak and meatloaf melted in our mouth and was cooked to perfection. Both the New York Sirloin and Meatloaf were moist yet cooked well done as we both like it.

Then there was the huge lobster tail that Jen still talks about! The meat was plump and super fresh.
As for the sides….. cheddar tator tots and bacon mac & cheese??? I mean c’mon!! OF COURSE THEY WERE DELICIOUS!

We had to release all calorie guilt and dive in (and wobble out)!

Before we ordered dessert Johnny took us for a tour of the restaurant which includes a beautiful private dining room called “The Diva Room” (LOVE IT)! The Diva Room can seat roughly 25-35 people and is perfect for parties, meetings and special events.
Although we didn’t sit at the Sushi Bar in the back, it looked extremely inviting and it was great being able to watch the chef’s hard at work!
Back at our table we finally decided on dessert! I chose the Banana Bread Pudding with was insanely delicious – served hot with caramel sauce.
Jen chose the Molten Chocolate Cake which is a souffle-like cake that gives way to a liquid chocolate center. Oh, yes. As good as it sounds.

GAY & LESBIAN FACTOR: Chow Fun Food Group is one of the most gay friendly companies in Rhode Island in my opinion! Their staff, including owner John Elkhay, have been nothing but wonderful to Gay Travel Information and welcomed us with open arms! The staff at their restaurants have been extremely personable and conversational with both Jen and myself. There is always a nice mix of gay and straight clientele (yes, always – my gaydar is fully intact everyone – lol). Ten Prime Steak & Sushi is the absolute perfect spot to gather with a group of friends, go out on a romantic (sexy) date or even dine by yourself. I can also think of no better place to host a special party or event than the “DIVA ROOM”…..am I right, or am I right?   Be sure to ask for Johnny when you go. I am sure you will become one of his faithful followers and admirers. I wholeheartedly “OUT” Ten Prime Steak and Sushi as LGBT friendly and worthy of our business.
I love living in Rhode Island for many reasons, but as a self confessed “foodie”, I can say that Chow Fun Food Group is one of those reasons.

See you at 10! 😉
