Philosophy
Nature is a big part of the attraction of Tiamo. They combine luxury living with responsible environmental design. Their 11 villas blend tastefully into their natural surroundings, taking advantage of the indigenous tropical vegetation to provide each one with a very private setting.
The properties are all built from sustainable pine wood, and are elevated on stilts to benefit from natural cooling and ventilation. Roofing is made from thatch that helps to insulate buildings and keep temperatures pleasant. Any external ingredients they bring in wherever possible are locally sourced and organic. And they operate in harmony with the residents of South Andros too; Tiamo is the largest employer on the island, and they care about the well being of theur staff. All of this combines to give you a luxury Caribbean experience while leaving a minimal footprint.

Location
No location conjures up the image of the quintessential Caribbean more readily than that of the Bahamas, and Tiamo is situated right at the very heart of these much loved islands. The Property
Once you step out of your beach villa in the morning you’ll find everything you need to enjoy your vacation in comfort and style, right on the water. Start your day by heading to the Great Room for a healthy breakfast, before strolling down to the beach, or settling down on a soft sun lounger by the inviting pool.
Wander back up to the Great Room for lunch or, later, for a sundowner. And if you need some distraction from your hectic schedule of pure relaxation, take a browse of the collection of volumes in the island’s library, or peruse the interesting local items on display in the shop for something special to bring home with you.

Activities
At Tiamo, you can be as relaxed or as active as you like. The resort is perfectly placed to take advantage of the calm Caribbean for some wonderful water sports activities (such as water skiing, wakeboarding…). For divers, a spectacular reef awaits just offshore, while the calm, colorful shallows are a paradise for snorkeling, doing paddleboard or a ride with a transparent canoe.
Above the water, this Bahamian island lends itself to some classic sailing experiences and access to world class fishing , while the interior of South Andros is a haven for exploring one of Caribbean’s most pristine tropical wilderness areas.

Fishing
Andros is the largest of the Bahamian islands, located 150 miles southeast of Miami and about 40 miles Southwest of Nassau.
One mile off the coast of the island lies the third largest barrier reef in the world, the Tongue of the Ocean where the water depth goes from 30 feet to 6,000 feet. Just off the reef, in deep water, are Tuna, Sailfish, Dorado… And, on the reed, we can find Barracuda, Grouper…
Moreover, Andros is known as the Bonefishing capital of the world! With miles and miles of pristine flats and seagrass beds, our island is perfect bonefish habitat…
