The Inn at St. Botolph – Boston, MA

The Inn at St. Botolph / 99 Saint Botolph Street / Boston, MA 02116 / 1-617-236-8099
As a frequent traveler I am use to the average, run-of-the-mill, cookie cutter type accommodations, so when I discover a truly unique property I really (REALLY) appreciate it. That is how I felt about my stay at the luxurious, stylish Inn at Botolph during a recent visit to Boston, MA.
The city of Boston derived it’s name from St. Botolph, the Patron Saint of travelers. How fitting a name for this inn, located in a beautiful 19th century brownstone building in Boston’s Back Bay.
The first thing that impressed me was the keyless entry. Guests are given a security code to gain entrance. The same applies to room access.
The second you walk through the front door you experience the sleek, modern, luxurious decor of the property.
We were assigned a deluxe 1-bedroom unit, suite # 201.
My partner and I fell in love with the decor and ambiance of our handsome room designed by Celeste Cooper, which felt more like an apartment.
The soft lighting, sitting area, queen size four-poster bed, kitchenette and brown and black color tones truly won us over!
The living room had a 42″ inch, flat screen TV, as did the bedroom (cable service is DirectTV which has an infinite number of channels — personal favorite? VH1 Classic – Hellooooooo 80’s! 😉 )
We also had a fantastic view through our bay windows of St. Botolph Street which, by the way, was extremely quiet.
The kitchenette had everything you could need including a microwave, toaster oven, coffee maker and full size fridge. We were also impressed with the security video system that allowed us to see outside and keep tabs on anyone coming and going.
Other perks the inn offers are free Wi-Fi, laundry services and continental breakfast, however, one of the inn’s BEST perks is it’s location! The Inn at St. Botolph is located in the center of the city, walking distance to many of Boston’s attractions including the Prudential Center and “T”, which are a 2 minute walk away and Copley Square, which is a 5 minute walk away. Other close attractions include Newbury Street with its fine shops and restaurants, Boyltson Street and Fenway Park.
My partner and I parked our car in the Prudential parking garage. The cost for overnight parking was (ouch) $39.00, but hey, that’s city parking for ya! At least the garage was extremely close and convenient to the inn!

Gay & Lesbian Factor: Inn at Botolph is located within easy walking distance to many of Boston’s gay & lesbian nightclubs including Club Cafe which is a 3 minute walk and The Machine — 5 minute walk away. Boston as a whole is extremely gay friendly. Tom DeSisto, hotel manager (and all around sweetheart), was extremely welcoming to Out & About Travel and eager to have Inn at St. Botolph reviewed on Gay Travel Information’s web site. I noticed several other gay couples at the inn the same night we were there and would absolutely recommend this property to family, friends and clients. With that said I am hereby “OUTING” Inn at Botolph as gay & lesbian friendly and worthy of our business.
Inn at Botolph is a feast for the senses! It is pleasing to the eye with it’s attractive decor. Pleasing to the touch with it’s (extremely) comfortable bedding and furniture. Pleasing to the sense of taste with its delicious continental breakfast. Pleasing to the ears with it’s “quiet” location and pleasing to the sense of smell with the many tempting restaurants within walking distance.
I am a fan for sure.
