Family-owned Granlibakken Resort occupies 74 wooded acres in a picturesque mountain valley, minutes away from Lake Tahoe. Granlibakken, a Norwegian name meaning sheltered by trees, is located at an elevation of 6,350 feet, where shy bears and other wildlife can be spotted on occasion.
Townhome and suite accommodations afford plenty of privacy in a tranquil and relaxing Lake Tahoe hideaway.

Women’s Wellness Weekend
Granlibakken Tahoe hosts the annual Lake Tahoe Women’s Wellness Weekend in November each year. The event fuses Western practices with Eastern philosophy to offer a balanced weekend of information, inspiration, activities, food & wine. A collaboration of community medical doctors, health professionals and fitness instructors come together to provide a weekend on well-being designed especially for women.

Yoga Instruction
Ashley Aarti Cooper, of Sustainable Earth Yoga Retreats, works with Granlibakken Tahoe to help guests and attendees of retreats to further their yoga practice.
Ashley Aarti is a lover of nature, books, music, people and creatures. She sees Yoga as an opportunity to explore who you truly are, and the infinite potential to what and where your life can lead. Yoga is connection as you find it, whether it is playful and fun or melodic and profound. Ashley has been practicing Yoga for fourteen years both on and off the mat.
Ashley received her 200 hour YTT in Goa, India. She has taught in studios and lead yoga retreats internationally and within the United States for six years. She currently lives in Truckee, CA, and specializes in private yoga instruction for one-on-one to large group classes including extensive experience teaching with the Wounded Warrior Project. Ashley works with therapeutic techniques and is studying to become a Yoga Therapist, recently completing the first 100 Hour “Yoga is Medicine” Advanced YTT with Avahana School of Yoga. Concentrating on a true yolking of breath, movement and spirit, Ashley’s classes are meditative, explorative and fun.

Granlibakken’s location in a peaceful 74 acre wooded valley a short distance from the shores of Lake Tahoe is the perfect setting for your wedding celebration.

The resort’s wedding package includes the ceremony and reception area, two nights of lodging in the seven-bedroom townhouse, breakfast each morning for 14 guests, a special dressing area for the bride, and a living room and kitchen for your rehearsal dinner for up to 40 people (catering not included). Winter & Summer Fun –
A 1.4-mile walk, bike ride or drive takes you to lively Tahoe City.
Skiing and Snowboarding – Alpine Meadows, Homewood and Squaw Valley, which hosted the 1960 Winter Olympics, are all within 10 miles of Granlibakken, so it’s easy to hit the slopes come winter.
Nordic Skiing and Snowshoeing – Head to Tahoe Cross Country for a 65-kilometer trail system groomed for skate skiing, cross-country skiing and snowshoeing.
Mickey’s Big Mack Charters – Catch a Tahoe trout, the Mackinaw, on Mickey’s sport fishing boat! These underwater giants can weigh over 30 pounds.
