Gay Friendly Lodging – Hyatt Regency Boston

Hyatt Regency Boston / One Avenue de Lafayette / Boston, MA 02111 / 617-912-1234
I had heard a lot about the beautiful renovations Hyatt Regency Boston completed in 2012, so I was eager to experience the hotel first hand.
My wife and I were immediately impressed as soon as we stepped inside.
Splashes of purple & grey hues, dark woods, marble flooring, eclectic artwork, modern furnishings and flora are both sleek and stylish and give the Hyatt Regency Boston a causally sophisticated feel.
I love how open and spacious the lobby felt and how quick & friendly the staff were.
Everyone we encountered, even the Valet attendant, was super friendly.
Did you know that Hyatt Regency Boston is the first hotel to be a member of the Green Hotel Association? Their award-winning hotel boasts accommodations that are eco, family and pet-friendly.
Another fantastic feature about Hyatt Regency Boston is the location in the Financial / Theatre District.
Attractions such as the Freedom Trail, Wilbur Theatre, Loews AMC, Faneuil Hall, Fenway Park and Chinatown are all close by.
The hotel is also connected to Macy’s, the shopping district, and a short 5 minute walk to the “T”, Boston’s transit system.
(**Good to know – You can get a day pass on the “T” which last 24 hours for $11, otherwise each ride is $2.50. The “T” can take you all over the city.)
Be sure to check out Hyatt Regency Boston’s full service restaurant, Avenue One and Avenue One Express.
Enjoy the newly-revamped, award winning, Avenue One, features seasonal & local cuisine. Known as one of the best Boston restaurant, Avenue One offers something for everyone.

Our room was located on the 14th floor. We were put in a standard king room.

I mean – look at this view!
Since we were there for only an evening we did not get to utilize the hotel’s concierge service, swimming pool or gym, but from what I have heard and seen — they are all fantastic!
The pool and gym are located on the 6th floor and both are very good size.
ROOM FOR HOPE: Another feature I love about Hyatt Regency Boston is their special “Room For Hope”. This one-of-a-kind king room has been thoughtfully appointed with patients artwork and adorned with touching details, reflecting the rich history and life-saving care of Children’s.
Guests can stay in this special room for an additional $45/night. The guest’s donation will be matched by Hyatt Regency Boston and a total of $90 will go directly to Children’s Hospital Boston. Click HERE for more information.

GAY & LESBIAN FACTOR: This is Boston. Need I say more? 😉 Boston is one of the most LGBT friendly cities in America and provides the gay & lesbian traveler a plethora of options. One of the area’s top gay hot spots, Club Cafe, is less than a mile away from the Hyatt on Columbus Ave. Andrew Collins of About.Com Gay & Lesbian Travel provides a good source of information on Boston’s gay scene HERE. I found the staff at Hyatt Regency Boston to be more than gracious to my wife and I when I checked in and would be more than happy to not only recommend this to my clients & readers but to return myself. I wholeheartedly “OUT” Hyatt Regency Boston as LGBT friendly and worthy of our business.
Hyatt Regency Boston is one spectacular hotel! It s a perfect choice for both the leisure & business traveler as well as locals looking for a “stay-cation” or delicious dinner at Avenue One.
I cannot wait to return.
