Gay Travel Information: Jillian’s / Lucky Strike Lanes – Boston, MA

Jillians * Lucky Strike Lanes & Louge  / 145 Ipswich Street (next to Fenway) / Boston, MA 02215 / 1-617-437-0300

I recently had the pleasure of checking out Jillian’s Boston / Lucky Strike Lanes Lounge with my partner, Jennifer and friend, Adam. I had heard such great things about Jillian’s from friends who are from the Boston area that I was extremely excited to see what the buzz was about.

Located behind historic Fenway Park, Jillian’s and Lucky Strike Lakes are part of a 700,000 square foot, multi-dimensional entertainment complex that spans three floors. You can dance, bowl, play pool and enjoy great food & drink under one roof!

The first floor consists of Tequila Rain Bar & Dancing where it is “spring break 52 weeks a year”.

Tequila Rain plays your favorite top 40, hip hop and rock in the best party atmosphere north of the border.

The second floor consists of Jillian’s Boston, which has 35 billiard tables, 12 plasma screens, 6 bowling lanes and a full bar & lounge for you to recover! 😉 Jen, Adam and I spent our time here. We were all impressed by the layout and modern decor and vibe.

The bar was indeed huge and there were lots of people playing pool, games being broadcast on the plasma TV’s, music playing and people bowling.

Prior to bowling we ordered a bite to eat. The food, simple in design, was quite delicious. For an appetizer we ordered their “sampler” which consisted of mozzarella sticks, chicken fingers & egg rolls; served with tomato sauce, honey mustard and orange zest.

We also tried their sweet potato fries which came with a Cajun ranch dipping sauce that was absolutely delicious.

For our entrees, Jen ordered the steak & cheese sandwich served on a sub roll with onions, green peppers, mushrooms and fries.

Adam ordered their bacon cheddar burger topped with cheddar and applewood smoked bacon. I simply ordered their basic burger.

After our meal we were all feeling extremely full, so what better way to work off those calories than bowling?

We had a blast and all said how we couldn’t wait to come back!

**NOTE** Jillian’s has a dress code that is enforced after 8pm. Click HERE for info.

The third floor consists of Lucky Strike Lanes & Lounge. This is a high energy bowling lounge full of swanky decor (think Vegas).

There are 16 bowling lanes, 800 square foot video wall, 12 pool tables, food and drink. We took a brief tour of this area and I was truly impressed! I felt like I was in some cool Vegas nightclub or somewhere located on Sunset Blvd in Hollywood.

Definitely a great place to go out with your friends, celebrate a special occasion or enjoy a fun, romantic date.

Gay & Lesbian Factor: First off, this is BOSTON. Enough said! 😉 Pretty much no matter where you go in Boston you should feel welcome and safe. Jen, Adam and I had a fantastic time and never once felt out of place or unsafe. Our waitress, Heidi, was super friendly and made us feel at home and took great care of us. We were all saying how we couldn’t wait to go back. With that said, I am hereby “outing” Jillian’s/Lucky Strike Lanes as LGBT friendly and worthy of our business! 😉

Jillian’s/Lucky Strike Lanes was such a great night out! The location, next to Fenway and eclectic Lansdowne Street just added to the excitement. Definitely worth a visit and don’t worry if you don’t experience it all during your first visit……you’ll be back.
